China's economy has continued to power ahead this year, with the latest data showing 8.9% growth in the third quarter. In the Economist’s lead article this week, the reasons why are outlined and point to perhaps the most successful government stimulus programme globally. Indeed, Chinese policymakers have been so successful in stoking the economy that they may soon need to introduce cooling measures.
